Moldova National Zoo - Enterprise Digital Platform
Moldova National Zoo - Enterprise Digital Platform
This project focused on building and improving a public-facing digital platform for the Moldova National Zoo, designed to handle high user traffic while supporting operational and administrative processes.
Context
The platform served as a key digital touchpoint for visitors, providing access to information, ticketing, and public updates.
At the same time, it needed to support internal workflows and align with institutional requirements typical for public-sector organizations.
Key challenges included:
- Handling high user traffic and peak loads
- Improving user experience and ticketing flows
- Integrating with internal and government-related systems
Role
I participated in enterprise platform delivery, focusing on system coordination, implementation, and alignment between technical and operational requirements.
This included:
- Working with stakeholders and internal teams
- Supporting development and system integration processes
- Ensuring that the platform met both user and institutional expectations
Platform Development
A modern web platform was developed using Node.js and React.
The system included:
- A scalable frontend for public users
- Backend services supporting platform logic and integrations
- Architecture designed for performance, maintainability, and future expansion
The goal was to create a stable and user-friendly platform that could operate reliably under real-world conditions.
Ticketing & Donations
A key part of the platform was the ticketing system, along with additional functionality supporting the organization.
This included:
- Improving ticket purchase flows
- Optimizing user interaction and conversion paths
- Implementing a donation system to support the zoo
The donation functionality created an additional channel for user engagement and financial support.
Admin Panel & Process Automation
In addition to the public-facing platform, the team developed a modern administrative system.
This involved:
- Building an admin panel for managing content and operations
- Supporting document workflows for public visibility
- Automating parts of internal administrative processes
These changes improved operational efficiency and reduced manual workload.
Integrations
The platform was connected with multiple external systems.
This included:
- Integration with government-related platforms
- Supporting data exchange between internal and external systems
- Integration with zoo organizations in Romania
These integrations expanded the platform beyond a standalone system into part of a broader ecosystem.
Outcome
The result was a scalable and reliable digital platform supporting both public users and internal operations.
The work contributed to:
- Improved user experience and ticketing efficiency
- Additional revenue streams through donations
- More stable platform performance under high traffic
- Better integration with institutional and external systems
- Increased operational transparency
Observations
Public-facing platforms in institutional environments require balancing multiple factors.
In this context:
- User experience must coexist with institutional constraints
- Performance under real traffic conditions is critical
- Integration complexity often defines system architecture
This experience reinforced the importance of building platforms that are both user-friendly and operationally reliable.
